It was my staple for a while.

As a cautionary tale I'll add that adding fiber at this point is a REALLY good idea. Fiber one and yogurt can be good at this stage in small amounts.Brookehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12120886921730599132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-18227308285425372012009-10-07T15:25:24.470-04:002009-10-07T15:25:24.470-04:00Eat soft foods to start with - applesauce, scrambl...Eat soft foods to start with - applesauce, scrambled eggs, etc. Lots of folks start with mashed potatoes. The key is to take a bit and Put Down Your Fork. I'm serious. After you have thoroughly chewed and swallowed that bite, then take another bite. Eat very slowly and only serve yourself tiny portions. You probably don't have any restriction right now so don't be disappointed if you don't see a tremendous difference. It will happen but the doctor will want to take it slowly. I'm 14 months out from lapband - 111 lbs lost, am at my goal. My blog is sallyslapbandjourney.blogspot.com. I bought canned white meat, light mayo, diced some celery and sweet pickle relish. I also did and still do, hamburger patties, all dressed up except no bun.Amy W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15765516850913923317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-79328967033255942262009-10-06T12:47:28.370-04:002009-10-06T12:47:28.370-04:00Congrats Pookie!Congrats Pookie!DBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12171014224700094700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-11524976695163997612009-10-06T12:07:02.864-04:002009-10-06T12:07:02.864-04:0015 pounds...that is great!! I have eaten mostly steam/cooked veggies and have not been brave enough to try salad just yet. I also have stuck with my protein shakes as one meal replacement per day.

You will do fine!uhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03352448044334020347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-58866968435051987792009-10-06T09:36:49.066-04:002009-10-06T09:36:49.066-04:00Here are some ideas of what I started with once I ...Here are some ideas of what I started with once I was able to move onto normal foods...I am quite picky so it didn't vary to much. For breakfast I usually have chobani greek yogurt and a string cheese. For lunch I was making turkey rollups for awhile. This was just low sodium turkey, a little smear of pesto and a small piece of cheese rolled up. I would eat about 3 or 4 of these, until I got sick of them haha. For dinner I usually just had a variety of grilled or baked chicken with some sort of seasoning or marinade with brown rice or mashed potatoe. I have found that I like ground turkey now, and enjoy making sloppy joes, or stuffed peppers with it. This is an easy mushier type food to get down. Hope this helps! Your doing fantastic!Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02271436599994993602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-20915647007754209472009-10-05T22:43:48.312-04:002009-10-05T22:43:48.312-04:00When I was able to eat regular foods after my surg...When I was able to eat regular foods after my surgery I ate protein first, then vegetables and if I had any room left then carbs. But I have to eat meats with lots of gravy or I get full in just a couple of bites. I haven't been able to eat breakfast because I am very tight until around 12 or 1pm. Just me, you could be different.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08375261990811647256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-18906679884758178572009-10-05T22:41:03.130-04:002009-10-05T22:41:03.130-04:00Way to go on the 14.8! Excellent.

I started "mushies" at 2 weeks, but my dr's list was very liberal - I could have meatloaf and mashed potatoes, for example, anything that could be mashed with a fork. So that is a good place to start. I did the Lean Cuisines and that worked well (still doing LC for lunch) - get something soft, and the portion control is already taken care of for you.Genhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11414571860592267584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642936044407762415.post-15862644964020816002009-10-05T21:32:37.304-04:002009-10-05T21:32:37.304-04:00Well Pookie, I wish I could give you advice on the...Well Pookie, I wish I could give you advice on the meals, but looks like you are going to be helping me with that one in a week or so!
